Children of BLUB World - Thiyam Nandlal Singh, the class 11th genius who created the first robot for domestic work using all discarded products. Hailing from a poor family in Imphal, Manipur, Thiyam created the robot to automatically feed chickens at a set time, everyday.
The routine task of feeding the large number of family owned chickens left Thiyam with little time for studies and games, which inspired him to create this machine which he named as JON 17.
A student of Johnstone Higher Secondary School, Thiyam Nandalal equipped the robot with redundant materials like syringes, glass bottles, electronic items, mobile phone parts, LED lamp and others such items. Without any formal training or participation in any science exhibitions, he created the robot after watching television and YouTube tutorials.
The little mastermind has been recognized by his school as well as the School Education Director for his wonderful accomplishment.
“Road blocks can either inspire or discourage a child; it is the atmosphere at home that carves his story.”
